When I was carrying my first child, I decided I did not want him to have brown eyes like mine. I wanted him to have green eyes like his father. So I told the Lord, "I want you to make Michael have green eyes like his father." And he did. And it was Michael. In those days they did not have tests that told you the sex of the child before it was born. I just knew that my first child was going to be a boy and his name was Michael.

When I was seventeen....... it was a very good year!

When I was seventeen, I wanted to become a nun. But one day in church, the little voice inside me asked: "What if that is not what God wants you to do?" What??? Not become a nun? Get married?? Oh, no!! But then seriously, I said in response: "If God wants me to get married, it has to be somebody who does not smoke or drink, whose mother and I have to be friends, can't be Irish, Hispanic, or any Latin based ethnic group. So the voice asked: "What's left?". I responded with "How about Russian. I don't know any of those. It sounds interesting. Another thing, it has to be before I'm 23 or I'm joining the convent then. One more thing, I'd rather be married to a Jew than a rotten Catholic. Three years later I met my soon to be husband, of Russian Jewish extraction. His mother became my best friend. Ask and you shall receive.

It's about Miracles

When I was in High School there was a Evangelist named Katherine Kuhlman who used to say: "I Believe in Miracles!" I did not believe it. I thought she was just exagerating her believes. But now 50 years later, I do believe she was right and now find myself saying: "I believe in miracles!" because they happen every day.
